Dawei Gongsun
Ms. Gongsun has successfully represented over a hundred of investors from over the world in their immigration applications. She possesses special expertise in EB5 investment immigration petitions (both traditional EB5 and those through regional centers), E-2, EB1, EB2, EB3, L-1, and H1b. Ms. Gongsun has developed a series of methods in confirming EB5 investors¡¯ source of funds which would substantially simplify the process and obtain success. In addition, many U.S. developers and business owners have sought her counsel in connection with using the EB-5 program to raise capital for investment projects.
Ms. Gongsun¡¯s counsel has included applications to designate new regional centers; applications for pre-approval of projects within regional centers; having projects adopted by existing regional centers; and purchasing designated regional centers. Ms. Gongsun¡¯s businss immigration practice has maintained a striking record of 100% approval rate thus far.
Being primarily a litigator from the early years of her career, Ms. Gongsun has represented many business entities in complex civil and commercial litigations, both in the State and Federal level. Her cases cover a wide range of industries including securities, garment, jewelry, home furnishings, construction, banking, trademark and copyright infringement, etc. Ms. Gongsun also has experience in handling admiralty law cases involving cargo claims (freights and demurrage).
Ms. Gongsun also practices real estate laws. She has represented numerous home buyers in purchasing multi-million residential homes as well as commercial, mix-used properties. She is familiar with New York condominium and cooperative apartments rules and regulations and have extensive knowledge in various issues involved in foreigners¡¯ real estate investments in the U.S.
Ms. Gongsun has been actively involved in providing pro bono work to the local Chinese community. She was a pro bono attorney to Sanctuary for Families and offered her legal knowledge and services in the area of immigration, family law and child protection to new immigrants and low income families. She is the legal counsel to several local business associations and frequently attends seminars as guest speaker.
