Joan Schlump Peters

Attorneys Joan Peters and Carmen Arce together have over 30 years of experience successfully representing foreign nationals and corporate clients in complex legal matters. Carmen is board certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in Immigration & Nationality Law. Although there are over 95,000 attorneys who practice Immigration & Nationality Law in the state of Florida, currently only 73, or less than .1%, are board certified by the Florida Bar as experts in Immigration & Nationality Law. Carmen is an active member of The American Immigration Lawyers Association and has served as Chair of the Board Certification Committee for the Florida Bar.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Joan graduated with honors from Wellesley College, and obtained her juris doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. She is a member of the New York Bar and the United States Federal Bar. Joan has over 25 years of legal experience, including extensive civil and commercial litigation in both federal and state trial and appellate courts. More recently her practice has focused on the EB5 immigration program, representing foreign investors in their EB5 applications as well as EB5 litigants.
